We Don’t Speak Insurance-ese
For aha insurance:
We’ll never make you feel as though terms like All Perils or Risk Location are words that we all use in our everyday communication. This insurance jargon is what we’re calling “insurance-ese”. Some industries have jargon that is fairly well known and can even be used in a fun and playful manner, like when we say “10-4” which is the stereotypical police term for affirmative. When it comes to insurance, we haven’t seen too many people (besides us) having fun with the jargon. At aha insurance, when we communicate with you, our goal is to ensure you understand exactly what coverages and protection you have.
We Just Speak Like a Person
Our position is simple. Since jargon like insurance-ese is incredibly useful for communicating within the industry as it speeds the processing of insurance policies and is beneficial ultimately for the customers; we reserve it for internal use only.
Understanding this, we’ve dedicated ourselves to taking the time to focus on our customers’ needs, and then to provide them with the information they need to make the informed policy decision that is best for them – in a way they can easily understand and be comfortable with.
So – being the different insurance brokerage that we are – we’ve decided to take the unusual approach of just speaking like a person. For example, if you’re going through our quoting process it is not expected that you understand the difference between All Perils and Collision coverage. Instead, we’ll provide clear descriptions along the way, whether you’re online, or on the phone with one of our licensed insurance brokers.
We know our stuff back to front because collectively, we have hundreds of years of experience in insurance amongst our team.
Igins is here to help
If you haven’t met him yet, you don’t know what you’ve been missing out on – quite literally perhaps. We’ve created Igins, your Digital Assistant, so you’re never alone when you’re completing your quote. All those years of insurance experience we’ve told you about having on our team have been poured into Igins enabling him to answer questions you may have along the way. He’ll even proactively offer tips to ensure you’re not missing out on anything helpful. And since we’ve created Igins, he’s well versed when it comes to our rule about no insurance-ese.
People Power
Of course, we also have dynamic talented people ready to help. Our team of licensed insurance brokers are available to assist whether you prefer online chat, email, or the phone – we’re ready to assist in any way we can. We use plain language and engage in conversations, not lectures which makes doing business with us simple and straight forward. This means that everyone at aha insurance will always talk with our customers, never at them. Our mandate is to put you, the customer first, and to be friendly, welcoming, approachable, transparent, knowledgeable and let’s not forget to have fun while we’re at it. Yes, getting an insurance policy actually can be fun. How wild is that?
Then there’s our FAQ’s, the Blog, our Social Feeds…

This blog that you are currently reading is constantly being updated with new and valuable information intended to help our customers keep on top of things. Our social feeds, like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, while they are a lot of fun, are also packed with the latest industry news we think you should know.

We’re doing this by talking to them like people, while being transparent, consistent and using everyday language.
