Oh, joy. Now it’s all about marketing…
I just published the third book, What a Creep in my trilogy, The Watcher Series. It’s a great summer read filled with off-world adventures, dragons, a grumpy old man, a genius dog, plus strangely aggressive guinea pigs.
So, pretty much exactly like The Odyssey, but you don’t have to find a seat in an IMAX and sit there staring at it for three hours.
The first books, The Long Watch & What a Dragon, are in much the same vein; exciting, funny, adventurous, irreverant. Except far less guinea pig in those two, which is probably a good thing.
Regardless, all three books are priced as low as they can go, (as little as .99 cents), for this special request.
The Special Request: The thing about putting out books these days is getting the reviews to build the credibility to help people over the hump to make a purchase. No one is going on Amazon or Kobo, and adding a book to their shopping cart if there are no reviews.
So, this is what I’m asking is for you to spend a little (a very little) of your hard earned cash on my books. Then read them, skim them, whatever, and then, most importantly give them a review.
The first two book have great reviews so far, and I’m hoping to match that with book three. The test audience feedback for What a Creep I received so far has been excellent, so don’t think I’m pulling a fast one here on ya! This is legit Canadian content!

Reviews for The Long Watch
Inventive! 5 stars: This is such a great story! A crusty old curmudgeon, an intelligent dog and a sweet and funny AI ? On a mission to save mankind? What’s not to love? Excited to read book two and see what our 3 friends get up to!
So Fun! 5 stars: Such a fun read, with great characters (both main and supporting), who are so easy to get to know, and fall in love with. McDougald’s writing style is intelligent and knowledgeable without being overbearing and makes reading about these folks seem like chatting with old friends. Can’t wait for more!
Fantastic and fun. Hope to see more of Doris and Duncan. 5 stars: A very well done fantasy SciFi with firm routes in human history, The Long Watch succeeds in putting intelligent humour into a genre that is often too dark to be entertaining. Not since Douglas Adams had Thor try to navigate an airline checkin kiosk in his Dirk Gently series have I laughed so much at the Gods. McDougald has brought us some great characters here in what he promises will be a series. I’m looking forward to the next instalment.
Reviews for What a Dragon

A Great Sequel to a Great Series 5 stars: This book continues the tale of Duncan, Doris, and Basil and their quest to save Earth from destruction. Basil’s personality continues to shine, and we see more about what makes Duncan tick and what makes Doris so unique. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Check out the first one if you haven’t already and then give this one a spin. You won’t regret it.
Excellent Book 2 5 stars: I bought this as I enjoyed the first one “The Long Watch” so much. A worthwhile fun read with unexpected twists. I would buy from this author again.
This is the nature of the business now. You can write your heart out, but publishers are gun shy, and the competition is steep. So, if you do help out, thanks so much!
And if you see me, I’ll carry around a pocket full of loonies to pay you all back.
Cheers – Hope you enjoy What a Creep.
